area to catch redfish. That is all they see on TV so they Our trout fishing was was just about wiped out in the 70's and 80's by commercial fishing. The good news is thanks to groups like CCA our trout fishing is returning to the point that we will once again be able to call ourselves the Trout Capital. So by now you may be asking yourself, what is a gator trout? Well a gator trout is one of those monsters larger than 30 inches. When a trout gets to this size they will eat everything smaller than themselves. It isn't uncommon to catch one of these fish on a 6 to 8 inch top water plug. I tell my clients all the time that if these fish got as big as our redfish I wouldn't wade fish anymore. I am a full time U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain with over 30 years experience fishing the Indian and Banana Rivers from Titusville to Cocoa Beach for redfish, trout, snook and tarpon.
